Part of the Greenway Trail System.
This trail runs along the west bank of the Scioto River through the downtown area. Parking at the recreation center at Dodge Park is the only park-related trail head. The trail hugs the edge of the river while it runs past the Main St dam, then follows sidewalks and ramped trails through Genoa Park in front of COSI. This section provides a stunning vista of the downtown across the river. Stop and rest at Genoa park where you will find restrooms, drinking fountains, fountains and the snack bar in COSI. The trail then goes north under the Broad St bridge, past Veteran's memorial, under a railroad bridge and through wooded area to SR 315 and the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers. The trail then passes under SR 315, parallels the new floodwall for 1/4 mile until it reaches Souder Ave. You must then either turn around or cross the bridge and continue for a short ride on the Greenway trail on the east side of the river, returning back to the westbank trail and returning to your starting point. |
