Parks in Need

The following parks have been identified as Parks in Need.  If you, your family, group, neighborhood, civic association or business are interested in assisting with the Parks in Need 2006 project, please contact Volunteer Office, 645-3325, Andy Wells, 645-1491 or Mark Steece, 645-6644  to arrange your cleanup project. 

Parks in Need:  Alum Creek Bike Path(Main St. to Livingston), Holton Park, Glenwood Park, Dodge Park, Driving Park, Barnett Park, Krumm Park, Sawyer Park, Beatty Park, Tuttle Park, Thompson Park, Woodward Park, Westgate Park, Blackburn Park, Goodale Park, Whetstone Park Berliner Park and Linden Park.
Once again if you are interested in setting up a cleanup project at one of the identified Parks in Need or any other City Park, contact Volunteer Office, 645-3325, Andy Wells, 645-1491 or Mark Steece, 645-6644 or email us at volunteers@columbus.gov.

Special Project Opportunities

Marion Franklin Park, 2801 Lockbourne Road

  • Undergrowth Honeysuckle Removal & Brush Clearing along Park's walking track.

  • Date & Time is flexible depending on volunteer groups availability.

  •  Volunteer group will need to be able to supply loppers, handsaws, and other tools necessary.

  • Department staff will conduct an on-site pre project tour to establish details of project.

Olentangy Greenway Trail Watch Program

  • Trail watch volunteers will monitor the Olentangy Greenway Trail between Whetstone Park and Tuttle Park, observing and reporting safety, health and maintenance problems. Trail watch volunteers will provide trail users with information about the trail and user safety rules and will also provide assistance to trail users who experience bicycle equipment problems or users who may need general assistance
  • Volunteers must be 18 years old
  • Trail Watch Application
  • Adult Volunteers and Olentangy Greenway Trail Watch Volunteers will be required to fill out a background check form and a medical waiver form before they begin volunteering.
