P.L.A.Y Grants

Kids in a Circle

P.L.A.Y. Grants are available to financially challenged families with children who want to participate in any fee-based program offered through Columbus Recreation and Parks.  If eligibility requirements are met, P.L.A.Y. will cover the cost of the program within the maximums listed below.

  • 2 classes up to a $50 grant maximum is available per applicant during the Fall, Spring and Winter sessions.
  • The Summer session applicants will be provided a grant for 1 week of the summer camp programs up to a maximum of $80.  Any additional fee balances will be the responsibility of the applicant.  Other CRPD programs (karate, pottery, etc.) during the summer maintain the 2 classes up to $50 grant maximum.

An approved P.L.A.Y. application does not guarantee registration in a program.  You must still go through the specific site's registration process.  For the Summer Camp Registration you will need to attend the Camp Fair event on April 9, 2005 at Franklin Park between 11:00-2:00pm.

Pre approved vouchers for the summer camps are available, via mail, until March 25, 2005.  Between March 28-April 8, pre-approved vouchers will be done on an appointment basis.  To make an appointment for a pre-approved summer camp voucher, contact 645-3325.  You will still need to attend the Camp Fair to register your child(ren) for the summer camp programs.

Application Process and Eligibility Requirements

Applications are available at all 27 recreation centers, at 420 West Whittier or by emailing cdwittkop@columbus.gov.  When requesting an application please specify your name, mailing address and number of applications needed.
