OPEN GARDEN TOUR

The 2008 Open Garden Tour Program, sponsored by the Horticultural Sub-Commission of the Columbus Recreation & Parks Department announces the second series of gardens open to the public this season.  The following gardens will be open free of charge on Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. 

 

1159 Ashland Ave. (Grandview)

A woodland garden with native plants and mature trees.  Tropicals interspersed with perennials and annuals.

 

Grandview exit off 670, turn right onto Grandview Ave.  Turn left on rt. 33 (BP station).  Turn right on Urlin, then left on Merrick.  Turn right on Ashland, 2nd house on the left.

 

93 W. Hubbard Ave. (Victorian Village)

Structured design full of extensive, informal perennial plantings.  Modern garden juxtaposed with 1890 home in historic area.  Garden is back yard only.

 

Located 2 blocks west of High St., in Short North / Victorian Village area.

 

306 E. 11th Ave.

Parking lot garden with pussy willow, ferns, strawberry begonias.

 

Take 11th Ave exit from I-71, head west to 306 E. 11th; (near 4th St. intersection.)
